🌻Is Sunflower Oil Good or Bad?

Sunflower oil is often thought of as a healthy option, however let’s take a closer look……

Sunflower oil (as well as Canola, Soybean, Corn and Safflower oil) is refined, so it’s not a natural healthy oil. Refined oils have a more significant trans-fat content, and when you are considering fats, trans is bad!

Good and Bad Fats…

Bad fats

Refined oils, such as sunflower oil can lead to serious health issues, you really need to avoid them!

Vegetable oils, such as Sunflower Oil may cause dangerous illnesses!

Not all fats are bad, several are crucial for good health. Bad fats are trans fats and vegetable fats – these are typically the ones you really need to steer clear of.

Bad fats (trans and vegetable) increase our risk of obesity, cancer and cardiovascular disease.

Bad, bad and very bad.

(I believe that we can probably include the ‘very’ to all three bads!)

So why are these kinds of fats so bad?

Because they are not natural. These types of fats are in truth vegetable oils which have passed through an artificial process that makes use of high pressured hydrogen and a number of compounds to transform them from oils into fats.

Vegetable oils are not good for our bodies. They can cause significant damage to your internal organs, in particular the lung tissue and reproductive process. Frightening stuff!

One study even claims that vegetable oils discharge harmful cancer-causing chemicals.

Some other researchers have found that a diet which is high in vegetable oils can cause toxicity of the liver, reduced immune system as well as learning disabilities! All bad. Very very bad.

So what about the good fats?

Fats that are healthy

Contrary to popular belief, saturated fats and cholesterol are in actuality good fats, and our bodies need them in order to function effectively.

What’s the answer? Avoid using vegetable oils, like soybean, canola, sunflower, corn and safflower and instead select natural oils, like coconut and krill.

Healthy oils will probably cost a little more in the short term, but consider the big picture. Isn’t your long term well being worth investing a couple of extra dollars? Besides, healing for all those frightening health problems attributed to bad fats have a hefty price tag as well!
