Healthy fat: 🌻Sunflower oil Vs 🥥Coconut Oil

Sunflower oil is often considered to be a healthy option, however let’s have a closer look……

Sunflower oil (as well as Canola, Soybean, Corn and Safflower oil) is processed, so it’s not a natural healthy oil. Refined oils have a more significant trans-fat content, and when you are considering fats, trans is bad!

Some fats are goos... others bad...

Bad fats

Refined oils, such as sunflower oil can lead to serious health issues, you really need to avoid them!

Vegetable oils, such as Sunflower Oil may cause severe illnesses!

Not all fats are bad, several are essential for good health. Bad fats are trans fats and vegetable fats – these are the types you really want to steer clear of.

Bad fats (trans and vegetable) multiply our risk of obesity, cancer and coronary disease.

Bad, bad and very bad.

(I do believe that we could probably include the ‘very’ to all three bads!)

Why are these kinds of fats so bad?

Because they are not organic. These kinds of fats are actually vegetable oils that have gone through a synthetic process that makes use of high pressured hydrogen and various chemical substances to modify them from oils into fats.

Vegetable oils are bad for your body. They are able to cause severe damage to your internal organs, especially the lungs and reproductive process. Frightening stuff!

One study even claims that vegetable oils emit poisonous cancer-causing chemicals.

Additional researchers have found that a diet that is rich in vegetable oils can cause toxicity of the liver, reduced immune system as well as learning disabilities! All bad. Very very bad.

Now for some good news…

Good fats

Coconut Oil is better for your health than Sunflower Oil!

Coconut Oil is better than Sunflower Oil! Coconut oil is the perfect healthy substitute for Sunflower oil

In contrast to popular belief, saturated fats and cholesterol are actually good fats, and our bodies need them in order to function properly.

What’s the answer? Stay away from using vegetable oils, like soybean, canola, sunflower, corn or safflower and as an alternative opt for natural oils, like coconut or krill.

Healthy oils will probably cost a little more in the short term, but think of the big picture. Isn’t your long-term physical health worth investing a few extra cash? Besides, healing for all those frightening health problems attributed to bad fats have a considerable price tag too!

🥬Natural Green Smoothies Vs🥛 Diet Shakes

Among the most astounding disadvantages with a lot of fitness shakes is that they have too much sugar, or even chemical sweetener. It's always a good idea examining the label to find out just how much sugar your diet shake possesses. In many cases you'll find that sugar is listed as one of the main two to three ingredients!

Just as with almost everything in the world you get what you pay for, if you opt for low priced diet shakes the standard of the ingredients will likely reflect that. Many brand name diet shakes are jam-choked with ingredients that provide lots of flavor but yet almost no nutrients.... and can also be considerably detrimental to your health.

Refined Vegetable Oil

Most likely one of the most negative ingredients routinely found in diet shakes is processed vegetable oil.
Studies have connected processed vegetable oil to toxins of the liver, reduced auto-immune system and also learning disabilities. It is also claimed to discharge toxic cancer-causing chemical substances into the body.

Maltodextrin

An additional ingredient frequently present in diet shakes is maltodextrin. This has got a high glycemic index that can result in severe health issues which alter blood sugar levels as well as immune system.
Ironically maltodextrin is also associated with gaining weight.
The Body will definitely resist... and make you fatter than you were before!

With regards to diet shakes the issue will go much deeper than low-cost ingredients. Diet shakes (and indeed  a good number of diets) regularly promote fat burning by cutting a food group entirely. Whenever that happens the body automatically switches into survival mode.

To provide an example, whenever you cut fats from your diet program your body is going to believe there is not enough fat available to you. As a consequence, it will begin to transform the way it processes excess fat in an effort to save even more of it the next time you eat some.
This is a survival mechanism that actually works exceptionally well for a hunter gather, when days to weeks might go by between food intakes. However In the modern world, where enough food is easily available, this strategy plays havoc on the ability to maintain good health and to drop the weight.

The yo-yo weight loss/gain diet shake pattern

Frequently the challenge is exacerbated as diet shakes make you slimmer temporarily, and that means you are convinced they are working. Yet the short-term weight reduction is definitely not worth the long lasting damage to your body, or the harm to your constant fat reduction efforts. One of the ways which your body compensates for lower food intake is to slow down the metabolic rate. This means that it will be tougher for you to burn fat in future and you'll begin the process of getting fatter more quickly!

So what do you do when you start to pile on the pounds? Well the diet shakes 'seemed' to get the job done last time this means you grab them yet again and the cycle continues! I wouldn't criticize anyone for believing that the whole diet shake business is a conspiracy made to make your weight yo-yo so you keep coming back again for more.
Green Smoothies will give the body what it needs

The solution

The secret to true sustained long-term weight loss is to have a balanced diet so you can be certain that your body is getting all the nutrition that you need.

Organic smoothies are a fantastic replacement for diet shakes because they are loaded with anti-oxidants and nutrients. When you consume high quality food your body is able to acquire the nutrition that it's needing easier. However if your body is lacking necessary nutrients it may lead you to feel a lot more hungry anticipating that whenever you consume food, it will acquire the nutrition it so desperately wants. This is just one the reasons that natural green smoothies are extremely filling. They have exactly what the body is craving. It's also the reason that 1 hour after a takeaway you're normally ready for more!

🍅 The reason that you shouldn't be using shop-bought tomato ketchup

Often it isn't the food we consume which is stopping us from losing weight, it's the sauce we put on the food. Today we'll be looking at probably the guiltiest condiment culprits... ketchup!

Is ketchup good for you?

I enjoy tomato ketchup, I put it on almost everything. So this particular one is very personal for me.

Tomatoes are nutritious, correct?

Ketchup is mainly made using tomatoes. So you might think that it's not too bad for you. All of us know that it's also packed with sugar, but tomatoes are wholesome vegetables, right? So at the very least you are going to be getting the nutrients from those...

Unfortunately not when they've been boiled to within an inch of their lives!

Ketchup is basically produced from incredibly over cooked tomatoes which have shed all their nutritional value, some water and tons of sugar.

The sugar that's added to ketchup is worth a closer inspection. Because, although this starts out as sugar (which is already bad) before it goes into the ketchup it is processed into high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) which is a lot more damaging for your health!

As well as this, it's crammed with flavourings, like MSG, which make us want to use more.

So , ketchup is not a good idea if you want to eat healthy. It's only healthy ingredient has been stripped of any value it once had and all of the other ingredients have been linked to a great number of medical issues, for instance...

High Fructose Corn Syrup is linked to

  • Obesity
  • Diabetes
  • Heart Disease
  • Cancer

.. and contains absolutely no nutritional value whatsoever. All it does is make stuff sweet, so people eat more.

Is MSG really bad for you?

When you do a quick search on MSG, there are a lot of articles saying that it has a poor reputation but it isn't really that bad for your health. Then you will stumble upon this little insight from Michael Galitzer...

“It’s probably one of the most harmful substances that one can eat.”

I honestly think that there might be a bit of a conspiracy here, seeking to avoid most people from finding the reality about MSG. So that we carry on eating products which are full of it.

MSG can lead to 'Leaky Gut' which sounds disgusting and is linked to...

  • Bloatedness
  • Gas
  • Diarrhea
  • Stomach pain

I have got to admit, on quite a few occasions I've had all of those, specifically after indulging in a yummy takeaway.

Healthy Tomato Ketchup options

So, let's get back to ketchup. We adore it. We would like to keep eating it. But we don't really want 'Leaky Gut'.

The healthiest substitute for shop purchased ketchup is to make your own.

In case you fancy giving that a try, then watch this video from "Cooking With Plants"

In case you simply don't have time for that,  there are a couple of ketchups which are a much healthier option.

Way back in 2010 ConAgra eliminated the HFCS from their tomato ketchup (Hunt's Ketchup) but unfortunately they put it back a couple of years later. Why? My guess, I think that they were seeking to cash-in on peoples growing knowledge of the dangers of HFCS and expecting that their healthier option would earn them a higher share of the ketchup market.

I don't for 1 minute feel that they did it out of genuine concern for our health.

Obviously, it didn't do the job, because they put it back in again. But folks are constantly getting more health mindful, so maybe they might give it an additional go when they decide the general public will pay for it. It's certainly worth picking up a bottle and checking the ingredients every now and then.

One more option, but not really a tasty one, is to switch out your reglular ketchup with tomato puree. In recipes this works perfectly, but as a condiment it's a bit strong. Tomato puree isn't as sweet and has an extremely strong flavor. But play with it, add some sweetener and see what you come up with. I'm pretty sure that whatever you do will be a lot healthier than any kind of branded ketchup!

Just don't boil all of the nutrition away, load it with HFCS and lace it with 'gut-leaking' MSG! Aside of that, experiment... possibly even adding a little bit of (deadly) sugar will still produce a healthier ketchup than the one you're using now.

Tomato puree (mixed with a sweetener) will be a good alternative to making your own ketchup because it lasts a lot longer than fresh tomatoes, takes up much less room in your fridge and its simple to rustle up in a couple of seconds as needed. Try it, and let me know how it goes.
