Sunflower oil is generally thought of as a healthy option, however let’s take a closer look……
Sunflower oil (and also Canola, Soybean, Corn and Safflower oil) is processed, so it’s not an organic and natural healthy oil. Refined oils have a greater trans-fat content, and when talking about fats, trans is bad!
The good and bad fats
First the bad fats

Vegetable oils, such as Sunflower Oil may cause severe illnesses!
Not all fats are bad, many of them are required for good health. Bad fats are trans fats and vegetable fats – these are typically the kinds you want to stay away from.
Bad fats (trans and vegetable) multiply our risk of excessive weight, cancer and cardiovascular disease.
Bad, bad and also very bad.
(I think that we could probably include the ‘very’ to all three bads!)
So just why are these fats so bad?
Because they are not natural. These fats are in fact vegetable oils that have been subject to a synthetic process that uses high pressured hydrogen and various chemical substances to convert them from oils into fats.
Vegetable oils are bad for your body. They can induce serious damage to your internal organs, particularly the lungs and reproductive process. Alarming stuff!
One study even claims that vegetable oils release harmful cancer-causing chemical compounds.
Additional researchers have found that a diet that is high in vegetable oils may lead to toxicity of the liver, reduced autoimmune system as well as learning disabilities! All bad. Very very bad.
So what about the good fats?
Fats that are good for you

Coconut Oil beats Sunflower Oil! Coconut oil is the perfect healthy alternative to Sunflower oil
In contrast to popular belief, saturated fats and cholesterol are in reality good fats, and our bodies need them to be able to function properly.
What’s the solution? Stay away from using vegetable oils, like soybean, canola, sunflower, corn or safflower and as an alternative go for natural oils, like coconut or krill.
Healthy oils may well cost a little more in the short term, but imagine the big picture. Isn’t your own long-term health worth spending a couple of extra dollars? Besides, healing for all those frightening health conditions linked to bad fats have a hefty price tag as well!
