Sunflower oil is frequently thought of as a healthy option, but let’s have a closer look……
Sunflower oil (and also Canola, Soybean, Corn and Safflower oil) is refined, so it’s not an organic and natural healthy oil. Processed oils include a much higher trans-fat content, and when you are talking about fats, trans is bad!
The good and bad fats
First the bad fats

Vegetable oils, like Sunflower Oil can cause dangerous illnesses!
Not all fats are bad, quite a few are extremely important for good health. Bad fats are trans fats and vegetable fats – these are the ones you want to avoid.
Bad fats (trans and vegetable) multiply our risk of being overweight, cancer and coronary disease.
Bad, bad and also very bad.
(I believe that we can probably add the ‘very’ to all three bads!)
Why are these types of fats so bad?
Because they are not natural. These kinds of fats are in truth vegetable oils that have gone through an artificial process that makes use of high pressured hydrogen and multiple compounds to transform them from oils into fats.
Vegetable oils are harmful for our bodies. They can cause serious harm to your organs, notably the lungs and reproductive process. Scary stuff!
One study even claims that vegetable oils discharge harmful cancer-causing chemical compounds.
Some other studies have shown that a diet which is rich in vegetable oils may result in toxicity of the liver, lowered immune system as well as learning disabilities! All bad. Very very bad.
So what about the good fats?
Fats that are healthy

Coconut Oil beats Sunflower Oil! Coconut oil is the perfect healthy replacement for Sunflower oil
Contrary to popular belief, saturated fats and cholesterol are in reality good fats, and our bodies need them to be able to function properly.
What’s the solution? Avoid using vegetable oils, like soybean, canola, sunflower, corn and safflower and instead select natural oils, like coconut and krill.
Healthy oils may possibly cost a bit more in the short term, but consider the big picture. Isn’t your long term well being worth investing a couple of extra cash? Besides, treatment plans for all those scary medical concerns caused by bad fats have a considerable price tag too!
